The Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Board of Governors is pleased to introduce
Jim Corkum as their 2025 New Hampshire Head Coach.
Coach Corkum comes to the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl from Concord High School.
Coach Corkum will lead his team of 36 of New Hampshire’s best senior players into the
72nd Annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Game.
Coach Corkum recently completed his 4th season as Head Coach for the Concord Crimson Tide. He graduated from Concord High School in 2003 and went on to attend Merrimack College in Andover, MA, where he played four years of collegiate football. He graduated from Merrimack in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Coach Corkum began teaching in the Concord School District in 2009 as a middle school Social Studies and Language Arts teacher, while also earning a Masters in Education. In addition to teaching, Jim served as an Assistant Football Coach at CHS to Eric Brown for 6 seasons. In 2014, he transitioned out of the classroom into an Administrative role serving as an Assistant Principal at a middle school for two years before being named an Assistant Principal at Concord High School in 2016, while also completing his Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies through Plymouth State University.
Coach Corkum states, "The NH-VT Shrine Game is an event that has always been very special to me. I was selected to play in the 50th game in 2003 under Coach Ken Sciacca (37-7 victory over Vermont), and the experience I took away as a player made a significant impact on me." Additionally, he says, "Being able to see first-hand the positive influence the Shriners have on the lives of children and parents who are facing their hardest days was inspiring and humbling, and it was a privilege to be associated with that cause."
Coach Corkum says he is beyond excited to be able to contribute to the Shrine cause and the game once again, and hopes to be able to form a competitive team that can come out with a NH win. Jim adds, "The Shrine game is a reminder that there are things bigger in this life than football." His goal is for both teams to soak in the entire Shrine experience, raise as much money as possible, and create friendships that will continue long after the game. Jim further says, "He feels blessed to be afforded this opportunity and can't wait to get started."
Good luck Coach Corkum!
