Meet our Patient Ambassador for the 71st Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Game
Nevaeh
Meet Nevaeh! She is 15-years-old and is a rising high school sophomore in Maine. In Nevaeh’s free time, she enjoys drawing, reading and swimming. She is an animal lover who not only spends time playing with her kittens, but enjoys taking a much needed nap with her pets! She looks forward to attending burn camp in July every summer.
Nevaeh was 5-years-old when she was burned with hot oil on the stove at her home in Maine. She was first air lifted to a hospital in Boston then immediately transferred to Shriners Children’s Boston where she met an amazing team of medical staff. For about a month, Nevaeh received care for her injuries at Shriners Children’s Boston. Nevaeh’s mother said “by the time we left Shriners Children’s Boston, the staff had become our family. No doubt about it. Nevaeh was
given the best care I could have ever asked for my daughter.”
Nevaeh has had several surgeries in the past 8 years for her injuries. Her family says with the help of Shriners Children’s Boston, the team of wonderful doctors, nurses, and child life specialists, Nevaeh has done well in her recovery and is getting better every day. Shriners Children’s Boston is one of Nevaeh’s favorite places.

Taylor
Taylor lives in Hinsdale, NH with her parents Nina and Jeremy, and big sister Ashtyn.
During a routine ultrasound a few months before her birth, Taylor’s parents learned she had developed a blood clot in her arm which had prohibited it from growing completely. Taylor’s left arm ends just below her elbow. Taylor has been a patient at Shriners Children's New England in Springfield, Massachusetts, since birth. She was fitted for her first prosthetic arm at four months old and received new prostheses as she grew, always happy to show anyone.
An active teen with many interests, nothing can slow her down. Taylor is beginning her junior year of high school. She is a member of the National Honor Society and on track to achieve her goal of being class valedictorian. When she isn't studying, doing art projects or fitting in drivers ed practice hours, Taylor enjoys camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, kayaking or tubing - just about anything involving nature and especially water, throughout New Hampshire and Vermont.
